Luwan Children’s Center
Based in Shanghai, this collaborative community kid’s center will combine the best of the hacker-space movement with the newest design and prototyping technology to create hands-on learning experiences that inspire and challenge children to learn, grow, and have fun. In a playful, safe environment that promotes experimentation and the testing of ideas, there will be a rapid prototyping lab with 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC milling machines, a computer lounge that employs MIT’s SCRATCH programming software, a workshop and tool library, and an event and exhibition space where corporations and inspired individuals can share their knowledge and ideas and engage with a community of curious and creative Chinese youth.
